The investigation report of Sahibganj police has revealed that Roopa Tirkey’s case is not a case of murder but it is a case of suicide, but the family members of Roopa Tirkey alleged that Shiv Kanojia had instigated her to commit suicide.

The Jharkhand High Court on Monday granted bail to Sub-Inspector of Police Shiv Kumar Kanojia in the death of Sahibganj Mahila Police Station in-charge Rupa Tirkey. Inspector Shiv Kumar Kanojia has come out of jail after 6 months. After hearing the petition, the court of Justice Ambuj Nath has granted bail to Shiv Kumar Kanojia on two personal bonds of 25-25 thousand. Tirkey, a police sub-inspector of 2018 batch, had allegedly committed suicide in May at his official residence in Sahibganj. Kanojia, who was Tirkey’s colleague, was arrested in this case.
Sahibganj police arrested Inspector Shiv Kanojia on May 9, 2021. In this case, a case has been registered in Jirwabari police station and research is going on. The court was told on behalf of Kanojia that Roopa has committed suicide and in the investigation of the police so far, it is being considered as a case of suicide.
‘It is not a case of murder but of suicide’
The investigation report of Sahibganj police has revealed that Roopa Tirkey’s case is not a case of murder but it is a case of suicide, but the family members of Roopa Tirkey alleged that Shiv Kanojia had instigated her to commit suicide. The police have not found evidence in the investigation. There was friendship between Shiva and Roopa. The two used to talk on mobile, but no evidence of abetment to suicide has been found. After the hearing, the court granted bail to Shiv Kumar Kanojia. Advocate Inderjit Sinha appeared on behalf of Shiva.
Please tell that Sahibganj Mahila Police Station in-charge Roopa Tirkey committed suicide on 3 May 2021 at her residence. Earlier a case of suicide was registered in this. Later, Roopa Tirkey’s mother called it a murder. Two women officials were accused in this case. It was revealed from Roopa’s mobile call details that there used to be a lot of conversation between Shiv Kanojia and Roopa. After that the name of Shiva appeared. Sahibganj SP Anuranj Kispotta himself was active in the investigation of this incident.
