Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces recovered IED for the second consecutive day in Kashmir, police foiled a big conspiracy in Bandipora

He said that the team called the bomb disposal squad soon after and the IED was detected inside a pressure cooker of 4-5 liters in the bag and it was defused at the same place.

The Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist, who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district on Wednesday, was identified as Babar Bhai of Pakistan, who was active since 2018.

The encounter took place on Wednesday in Pariwan area of ​​South Kashmir district. Security forces had received information about the presence of terrorists in the area, after which a cordon and search operation was launched there. An AK rifle, a pistol and two grenades have been recovered from the encounter site, police said. A policeman was also killed in the encounter and five people including three jawans were injured.

Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar had tweeted about the Kulgam encounter and said, “A policeman Sergeant Rohit Chhib was martyred, three army personnel were injured. Two civilians also received minor injuries. One terrorist of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed was killed.

An army spokesman said that the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area and the security forces had to exercise utmost restraint despite the terrorists firing and hurling grenades as it was a residential area.
