This joint operation has been done by NIA in collaboration with Baramulla Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CAPF). Some electronic devices and documents have been recovered during the raids. According to sources, raids have also taken place in some parts of Srinagar as part of action against terrorism in North Kashmir.
A day earlier, the NIA had raided the residence of a salesman in connection with cross-border smuggling. Raids were also conducted at a drug dealer, although nothing has been recovered from him. Along with this, the residence of Bashir Ahmed Malla, son of Zahoor Ahmed Malla of Old Town Baramulla, who is currently lodged in Udhampur Jail, has been searched. Along with this, a raid has also been conducted at the residence of Maharaj Din Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Butt of Baramulla. Firoz Ahmed Sheikh, Khalid Sheikh and Zahoor Sheikh, sons of Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh, owner of Hotel Hilton in Pahalgam and resident of Diwas Colony Nishat, are also on the NIA radar.
