Since the beginning of this year till now i.e. in 9 days, a total of 7 encounters have been seen in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 13 terrorists have been killed.

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. In this encounter, the security forces killed two terrorists. A police spokesman said that the security forces launched a search and cordon operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Hasanpora village of the district. Since the beginning of this year till now, ie in 9 days, a total of 7 encounters have been seen in the valley, in which 13 terrorists have been killed.
Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that both the terrorists were local and were associated with ‘The Resistance Front’ affiliated to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Not only this, he was also involved in many terrorist crimes. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has identified both the terrorists as Amir Ahmed Wani of Alamganj in Shopian and Sameer Ahmed Khan of Tiken in Pulwama.

Was involved in many cases of terrorist crime
Police said Wani was a classified terrorist. However, the second slain terrorist had recently joined the terrorist group. Both were part of a group involved in several terror crimes. Many objectionable materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered from them. He said that an AK-47 and a pistol have been recovered from the terrorists.
Police said that they were given full option to surrender, but they started firing on the security forces. After which the encounter started. Apart from the police, 9 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army and CRPF were also part of this operation. The new operation took place within 24 hours of the killing of two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including a ‘commander’, in two encounters in Shalimar and Harwan areas of Srinagar.
