Earlier, the army foiled an infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and during this, three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in their action. Security forces had foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara itself last week and during this a Pakistani terrorist was killed. According to officials, the soldiers noticed some suspicious movement along the Line of Control near Darshan Post and challenged the intruders following which firing started. He said the troops retaliated in which one terrorist was killed. A police spokesman said the terrorist was injured and later fled the spot.
Later, a police spokesman said that the body of the slain terrorist was recovered and as per the identity card found from him, he was identified as Mohammad Nazir of Athmukkam area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. According to a police spokesman, a huge quantity of narcotics and weapons were seized from him, which includes 10 packets of heroin, two AK rifles, two AK magazines and ammunition including two pistols.
