Today the whole world is marching towards austerities to become healthy through yoga. Not only India but today hundreds of countries around the world not only consider yoga, but have now adopted it and have also included it in their daily lifestyle. There are lakhs of people doing yoga even in the city of Sanskardhani, situated on the banks of mother Narmada, but there is a girl from Sanskardhani, Ganga Chakraborty, who has made a different identity by the name of Yoga Guru Water Girl.
Ganga Chakraborty, 22, does yoga daily in the lap of mother Narmada. Ganga has become proficient in yoga not only on land but also in water. Water girl Ganga Chakraborty can also swim comfortably in water through yoga asanas. She does this every day, which is also giving a unique message in the direction of Narmada cleanliness and its conservation. Water girl Ganga Chakraborty told that her father Kishori Lal Chakraborty is basically a resident of Jatashankar in Damoh district. But at present, he is posted as Food Inspector in the District Collector’s office.
When Ganga was 12 years old, her mother Sumitra Bai died. After the death of her mother, Ganga used to visit Narmada daily with her father. Just now a thought came in his mind to do something to keep Narmada clean and since then Ganga is giving message towards keeping Narmada clean. Ganga told that during the Corona period when people were imprisoned in their homes, she was doing yoga to people through online medium.
Ganga says that during the Corona period, yoga was the only support that saved the lives of millions of people from this epidemic. Ganga believes that social media played an important role in this. Because social media was the only platform when people were sitting in their house, then Ganga was teaching yoga to people with the help of it.
Everyone usually considers it more important to keep themselves healthy for doing yoga, but the purpose of the Ganges is not to be healthy by doing yoga in the Narmada, but also to keep the mother’s cleanliness and her lap clean. This is the reason why Ganga performs various asanas of yoga continuously for 8 years in mother Narmada. Through Surya Namaskar, Chandra Namaskar and various asanas, the Ganges also gives this message to the devotees who reach the banks of Narmada that if the water is clean, then there is life.
Ganga believes that the way we can keep ourselves healthy by doing yoga, in the same way keeping the lap of mother Narmada clean, we can understand the basic meaning of life-giving. Huh. But spreading this message by doing yoga is the most different way of its kind.
