The first country to deliver its consignment to India on 24 April was the United Kingdom.
India got help of 900 oxygen cylinders from Germany
The Central Government on Tuesday has prepared a detailed list of consignments of medical equipment that India has received from various countries amid increasing cases of corona virus epidemic.
The government said that between April 24 and May 2, India received consignments of 17 medical devices from other countries.
These devices include – oxygen concentrator, medical oxygen cylinders, ventilator and BiPAP machine, bedside monitor, anti-viral drugs, rapid test kit for detection of Kovid-19 virus, pulse oximeter, N95 mask etc. The government said that all these medical devices have been sent to India from 14 countries.
‘UK’, the first country to send help to India
On 24 April, the first country to deliver its consignment of medical equipment to India was the United Kingdom. The UK sent 95 oxygen concentrators, 20 Loomis BiPAP machines, 20 ventilators and associated equipment to India. All these devices have been sent to various hospitals in the national capital Delhi.
After the United Kingdom, Singapore sent the next aid to India on 28 May. Singapore sent 256 oxygen cylinders to India as an aid. Singapore gave oxygen cylinders at a time when serious corona patients in both government and private hospitals across the country were suffering from lack of oxygen.
Singapore, the second country to help India
Government officials said that oxygen concentrators from Singapore have been evenly distributed among the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar, Patna, Raipur and Ranchi. Russia also helped India by sending at least 200,000 packs of oxygen concentrators, lung ventilators, bedside monitors and anti-viral drug ‘favipirvir’.
Romania has also helped India by providing at least 75 oxygen cylinders and 80 oxygen concentrators, which were sent to hospitals in Delhi such as Lady Hardinge, Safdarjung and Aiims Jhajhar. Countries that have helped India in this time of crisis include the United States, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Thailand, Germany, France, Uzbekistan and Taiwan.
America and UAE sent the largest shipment
India has received the largest consignment of medical equipment so far from the United States and United Arab Emirates. America has given 714,301 rapid detection kits to India. 125,000 Remedesiver vials. 994,800 N95 sent with the help of masks and oxygen cylinders. While the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent 480 ventilators, 170,7600 masks and hundreds and thousands of PPE kits to India.
