The Anti Human Trafficking Unit of the Border Security Force (BSF) South Bengal Frontier has caught 2 women touts (brokers) smuggling over 100 women. Both the female brokers arrested were further arrested Police station Jalangi has been handed over for legal proceedings of the police. Police in-charge Jalangi said that along with presenting them in court, the process of taking them on remand will also be completed so that this syndicate can be exposed. It used to take up to 15 thousand rupees to get women across the border.
A statement issued by the BSF said that on May 8, at around 10.00 am, the BSF’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit received a notification that two human trafficking women brokers crossed the International Border in the area of Border Outpost Forgepara, 141 V Corps. Is in the mood to go to Bangladesh.
Both women are from Murshidabad
The statement said that after receiving this news, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit made a plan with the commander of the border post Fakepara. Around 12.15 pm two suspicious women were seen heading towards Bangladesh, who were caught by the BSF and brought to the border post for forgery for questioning. In the initial inquiry, the women brokers stated their names as Binu Ara Bibi, age 37 years and Mima Khatoon age 21 years. Both are from Village + Post – Sadikhandar, Domkal, Police Station – Jalangi, Murshidabad, West Bengal. Both also stated that the following criminals are associated in their syndicate:
More than 100 women have been made victims
The statement said that the women caught said that in association with the above syndicate, more than 100 men and women have crossed the international border through the international border in the last few years and one person from their syndicate has been given R – For crossing, you get 5000 to 15000 rupees per person. BSF got the passbook of State Bank of India from them, in which about 400000 (four lakhs) per month has been transacted for the last few years. After human trafficking, they were sent to different cities of India.
Women were sent to various cities of Kolkata
Women brokers have not given any information about their Bangladesh network. On the other hand, the women told that by sending women and men from Bangladesh to the border, they used to send them further to different cities of India like Kolkata, Bengaluru, Karel, Mumbai etc. These women brokers are laying their nets in the areas of Bonsmari, Gopalpur Ghat, Jalangi, Mansaghata, Charbhadra, Farzipara.
Innocent women make victims
Senior spokesperson of the South Bengal Frontier, DIG Surjit Singh Guleria (South Bengal Frontier, Surjit Singh Guleria, DIG), reported that, in most cases, it has been observed that poor women, who are involved in human trafficking gangs, have been given to poor women In this, good jobs like beauty parlor, bar dancer, gym helper, massage parlor, waiter work, house maid, etc. are illegally crossed here and then brought here in the big cities for prostitution. Inhuman business is thrown in, but the Anti Human Trafficking Unit is not allowing the nefarious designs of brokers and buyers involved in human trafficking to succeed and to show excellence in their country and duty.
