The board had budgeted 6.45 lakh children for primary classes (1st to 5th), and 6.39 lakh children from classes 6th to 8th, for the 2021-22 session in Delhi.

According to the minutes of the PAB meeting held on 9 May, “The GNCT of Delhi (Government of National Capital Territory) informed that against the PAB-PM nutrition approval of children, 5,23,572 children were covered due to increase in enrollment. It was further informed that due to increasing enrollment and shortage of food grains, all enrolled children could not be covered under the scheme. The PAB expressed concern over the too late informing the ministry. The PAB noted that the Delhi government should have submitted proposals for approval of additional number of children after the second quarter of FY 2021-22. Timely submission of additional proposals could have been helpful in covering all enrolled children during the closure of schools during the pandemic.
Explain that the PM-POSHAN scheme, under which hot cooked food is served to meet the nutritional needs of children. This includes government and government aided school students of classes I-VIII as well as pre-primary classes. Food security allowance was continued through distribution of dry ration kits even during the closure of schools due to the pandemic.
