During the procession of Moharram in Naya Tola of the city of Katihar district of Bihar, miscreants attacked the ancient Mahavir temple in the area with brick and stone. During this time, the miscreants have broken the glasses and doors of the windows of the houses falling on the way by hitting brick and stone. The miscreants have also damaged the bike and car in front of the house. At the same time, when the policemen running with the procession tried to stop the miscreants, they were also attacked.

When the people of the Hindu community came to know about the incident, they also reached the spot. During this time, brick and stone rained from both sides. The number of miscreants who came out of the Moharram procession, due to which the matter did not work soon. The miscreants moved forward by sabotaging. Many Hindu organizations including Bajrang Dal reached Naya Tola on the information of the incident. Hindu organizations expressed displeasure over the attack on the temple.
Hindu organizations protested
Workers of Hindu organizations also took to the streets to protest and blocked the road by burning tires everywhere. On receiving information about the incident, Katihar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Meena, SP Vaibhav Sharma reached the spot with a large number of police forces. The district administration has deployed a large number of police forces in the new Tola area.
Former deputy CM reached the spot
On the information of the incident, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tarakishore Prasad reached the spot and pacified Hindu organizations by assuring them of getting the miscreants done. The situation is currently under control, but the matter remains tense. The district administration has now started identifying the people who spread the nuisance. CCTV cameras installed near the spot are being scrutinized.
