45-year-old farmer Chada Pahan, who studied up to fifth standard, has installed a machine to extract lemon grass oil from his own jugaad. From which they extract the oil of lemon grass. He does not have any degree to achieve this feat, nor has he taken any training for it from anywhere. He learned all this just by watching. After seeing in many places, lemon grass oil extracting machine has been made. Chada Pahan, a resident of Naxal-affected Kojdong village of Murhu block area of Khunti district, has been cultivating lemongrass since last year. He has received training from Murhu for the cultivation of lemon grass.

According to Dainik Jagran, if he had bought this type of processing plant from the market, then he would have paid a price ranging from five lakh to 19 lakh for it. Farmers in Khunti district, which is famous for the cultivation of opium, used to do traditional farming earlier, but now the farmers here are giving a better indication for the modern way of cultivation of lemongrass, because the cultivation of lemon grass is being done on those lands. Earlier it was barren.

The farmers here are earning well by selling lemon grass oil. With the help of Seva Welfare Society, all the farmers here are doing farming. On behalf of the society, all the farmers have been taught the tricks of farming, the farmer also cultivates lemon grass in four acres after getting training. This time he hopes that this time he expects more profit this year than last year. At present, lemon grass is being sold in the market for Rs 1300 a liter. Jharkhand Livelihood Promotion Society currently buys lemon grass oil from farmers. Let us inform that Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh had come to see the oil expeller machine developed by Chada Pahan. After seeing this technique, he praised his technique and said that villagers have many innovative ideas. They need to move forward. He also said that he will do everything possible to help.
