New drainage channels should be dug or pumped as soon as possible. Drain the water from the garden. Let the garden dry. If a new layer of silt or other debris has accumulated over the original soil surface, remove it and restore the soil surface to its original level.
Water which is necessary for everyone, when it becomes too much, it also kills. During rains and floods, trees and plants along with common people and animals are also troubled by its excess. Sometimes thousands of trees and plants dry up. Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Bihar’s All India Fruit Research Project’s Principal Investigator and Associate Director Research Dr. SK Singh tells about the changes in trees that the higher the temperature of the soil in waterlogged areas, the more the plant needs. There will be more damage. To reduce damage to fruit orchards in waterlogged areas, drain the orchard by digging new drainage channels or pumping water out of the garden as quickly as possible. If a new layer of silt or other debris has accumulated on the original soil surface, remove it and restore the soil surface to its original level.
Brings more moisture to the soil and damages the plants
If the soil has eroded, fill these places with the same type of soil that was in the garden. Do not use sand, mulch or other types of soil that will alter the internal drainage properties or texture of the existing soil when adding soil around plant roots. Plow it as soon as the sun comes out and the soil is fit for plowing.
Use manure and fertilizers according to the age of the tree in the orchards, but the point to be noted here is that after the first week of September, do not use any type of manure and fertilizers in the orchards of mango and litchi, not any Do some kind of disciple work.
Trees are in breeding season from September to November.
If you used manure and fertilizer after the first week of September or did any kind of agricultural work, then instead of getting flowers in your garden at the end of February, new leaves will come out in your garden. Heavy losses may occur. If your tree is sick or diseased and your aim is to save the tree, then it is a different matter.
According to Dr SK Singh, for commercial fruit planting, fungicide can be used after the flood water has receded and it is determined that the fruit crops are still alive.
Plants weaken after waterlogging and are more vulnerable to diseases, pests and other environmental stressors.
Check fruit crops for symptoms of Phytophthora root rot. Plants infected with this disease often have yellow leaves that appear “burnt” at the margins and may wither prematurely in the fall. Use medicine and save trees
Infected tissue shows a distinct line between healthy (white) and infected (reddish brown) tissue, as this fungus can persist in the soil for many years. To prevent this disease, dissolve the fungicide called Ridomil Gold in 2 grams / liter of water and soak the soil very well. At least 30 liters of the drug solution is required to thoroughly moisten the soil around an adult tree.
