National President of IMA Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh and CAIT National President and General Secretary Pravin Khandelwal have demanded nationwide lockdown from the Center.
The Indian Medical Association has demanded complete lockdown of the Center for 15 days across the country as Corona cases are increasing rapidly. President of the National IMA, Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh said that he appealed to the government for national lockdown. Along with this, CAIT national president and general secretary Praveen Khandelwal also urged for immediate nationwide lockdown to overcome the second wave of Corona.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) made this demand after 13 thousand 534 new corona patients appeared in Bihar in one day. Today 97 people died due to corona in the state. The total number of corona cases in Bihar has gone up to 4.97 lakhs, while 2,739 people have died so far.
CAIT and IMA demand lockdown
A nationwide bandh has been called by at least 67 percent of the people surveyed by CAIT in view of the worsening corona situation in the country. On the other hand, Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, President of IMA said that lockdown should be imposed as soon as possible to avoid this epidemic. He says that doctors are already under a lot of stress. Senior doctors and institutes are also in his support.
Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh said that the United Kingdom and China took the right steps to stop the spread of the virus by implementing lockdown. On the other hand, America is paying a heavy price for not doing a lockdown.
Senior doctors in favor of lockdown
Many senior doctors are in favor of immediate lockdown. Dr. Vidyapati Chaudhary, Head of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), Dr. PK Singh, Director of AIIMS-Patna and Dr. NR Vishwas, Director, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), besides the Superintendents of PMCH, all say that after the lockdown Only in cases will there be reduction.
CAIT National President and General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that if nationwide lockdown is not possible, the Center should ask the states to impose lockdowns where cases are continuously increasing. Khandelwal said that more than 9 thousand people across the country participated in the survey and 78.2 percent agreed that the second wave had become uncontrollable. He said that at least 67.5 percent people have agreed to the nationwide lockdown.
