Thousands of farmers of Haryana have changed the way of sowing paddy this year. Instead of transplanting in the traditional way, direct sowing of paddy (DSR-Direct Seeding of Rice) is done. Because this will save both the expenditure and water in farming. Farmer Satnarayan, a resident of village Dipalpur in Sonipat, has adopted this method of paddy cultivation this year. On the other hand, direct sowing of paddy has been done in 10 acres of field in Mehmedpur village of Karnal. Direct sowing of paddy has been done in 5 acres of farmland of farmer Subhash Chand in village Dhumsi. Sowing has been completed in most of the places. Now the physical verification of the area in which direct sowing took place has also been started. Only after this, farmers will get financial help of Rs 4000-4000 per acre.

The state government has said that farmers should register themselves on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal by June 30, to take advantage of the direct sowing scheme of paddy-2022. Without registration, no farmer will be able to take advantage of this scheme. Those who sow with DSR machine should keep in mind that in this method, seed will be required at the rate of 8 kg per acre. Paddy should not go below an inch in the ground.

Verification of DSR will be done by July 25

After registration, physical verification of sowing will have to be done by July 25. This work will be done by Farmers Committee, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Patwari or Numberdar. After this, the government will send the incentive amount to the DSR verified farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This year this scheme has been implemented in 12 districts. Farmers of Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Jind, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Hisar, Sonipat, Fatehabad, Sirsa and Rohtak can take advantage of this.

two major changes to the plan

The scheme of sowing paddy with DSR technology was applicable last year also. But this time it has been changed. Earlier, farmers were given Rs 5000 per acre for direct sowing of paddy. But farmers could take maximum only Rs 12500. This time this limit has been broken. Now the incentive amount has been increased to Rs 4000 per acre, but the government will give money according to the area in which the farmer sows. If a farmer cultivates in 10 acres, then he will get the help of 40000 rupees.

7000 rupees will be available for this work

On the other hand, to discourage the cultivation of non-basmati paddy, the government is giving incentives at the rate of Rs 7000 per acre. Under this, instead of paddy, other crops will have to be sown or it will have to be left empty. For this, farmers will have to register on Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal. Thousands of farmers have taken advantage of this scheme.
