In this way, about 20 to 22 thousand rupees are spent to the farmer. Now if we talk about earning, then if the farmer is not able to sell that paddy in lamps and sells it to the local middlemen, then he gets a price of Rs 1200 per quintal.

Rainfed farming is more in Jharkhand. The farmers here cultivate paddy. There are many such farmers who have only paddy fields, in such a situation they are able to cultivate only paddy, for the rest of the year they work as laborers or go to other cities in search of work. Sowing of paddy in Kharif season starts from July-August. After this, in November-December, farmers harvest the paddy, after threshing, they bring the paddy to the house. It takes them five to six months to do this work. In such a situation, there is a need to know what is the income of the farmers who plant paddy.
cost in the first stage
To cultivate paddy, the farmer has to work hard on his own as well as employ laborers in the field. In the beginning of paddy cultivation, first of all the farmer has to plow the field with tractor or bullock. After this, cow dung has to be added to it. If a farmer cultivates paddy in one acre of cultivated land, then the farmers have to spend three and a half to four thousand rupees only in plowing and preparing the field properly. After this, urea and DAP are used as chemical fertilizers, for which two and a half to three thousand rupees are spent.

After spending thousands of rupees, for planting one acre of land in the field, a farmer incurs an expenditure of three and a half to four thousand rupees, after which at least one thousand rupees are spent in making a bund around the field. After this, two thousand rupees are spent to remove weeds from the field. After this, after the preparation of paddy, it costs two thousand to two and a half thousand rupees to harvest it. Paddy has to be threshed. If we talk about the rent of thresher machine in Ranchi district of Jharkhand, then for the production of 20 quintals of paddy, a rent of Rs 2000 has to be paid. After this, the paddy has to be loaded in the tractor after closing it in the sack. It costs money. Then tractor rent has to be paid to bring the paddy home by tractor.
This is farmer’s income
In this way, about 20 to 22 thousand rupees are spent to the farmer. Now if we talk about earning, then if the farmer is not able to sell that paddy in lamps and sells it to the local middlemen, then he gets a price of Rs 1200 per quintal. Thus, on selling 20 quintals of paddy in one acre, the farmer earns Rs 24000. Whereas its cost is above 20 thousand. In this his own labor has not been accounted for. If the yield is good, then 25 quintals of paddy is produced, then the farmer gets an income of five to seven thousand rupees.
Earnings from Selling in Lamps
A farmer can sell only 16 quintals of paddy per acre in lamps. In such a situation, if a farmer sells paddy at MSP, then he will earn Rs 32800 in one acre. That is, there will be an income of about 10 thousand rupees more than the cost. About five to six months of hard work and earning 10 thousand rupees, if the system supports it, because there are many farmers who are unable to sell paddy in the lamps or do not want to sell it. Because their complaint has always been that they get late in getting the money. This is the math of their earnings. Apart from this, if the yield is not good, then the farmers have to bear the loss from their pockets. The cost of cultivation of one acre is more than 22000, so the government also pays an amount of Rs 22000 per acre as compensation.
