In Lucknow, the case of a teenager killing his mother after stopping him from playing the online game PUBG had come to the fore in the past. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken cognizance of it. In this regard, NCPCR President Priyank Kanungo has written a letter to the Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on Tuesday. NCPCR President Priyank Kanoonoon in his letter has called for a list of all such online games running in the country within 10 days even after the ban from the Secretary of the Ministry.

Taking cognizance of media reports related to the boy shooting his mother to death after stopping him from playing PUBG, NCPCR has written a letter to the Secretary, Ministry of Electronics Fund, Information Technology. In the letter, NCPCR President Priyank Kanoon has said that it is beyond the comprehension of the Commission that a banned sport in India which has been banned by the Government of India is still available for use by minors. In the letter, NCPCR has requested the President and Secretary that what is the reason that these banned online games are still available on the Internet.
In the letter, NCPCR President Priyank Kanungo has requested the Secretary, Ministry of Electronics Fund Information Technology, to provide information about the action taken on his behalf regarding such online games so far. Also, NCPCR has asked for a list of such online games within 10 days.
Government of India has banned Pubg in 2020
Pubg is banned inside the country. PUBG was banned in 2020 by the Government of India. Actually in October 2020, 118 mobile apps were banned by the Government of India. The name of PUBG was also included in this list of banned mobile apps. During that time a large number of people were playing this online games inside the country and a large number of youth got used to it. It was believed that after the ban was imposed by the government, the craze for online games like PUBG from inside the country would also end, but after the incident in Lucknow in the past, the controversy has started once again regarding PUBG.
