Seema Thakur, the only woman driver of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), drove a bus on Shimla-Chandigarh road on Wednesday, after which she became the first HRTC female driver to drive a bus on this interstate route.
Seema Thakur said that it was a great experience and I am proud that I got an opportunity to drive an inter-state bus. He told that I am the first female bus driver of the state to achieve this feat. He appealed to the government to also include bus drivers and conductors in COVID-19 warriors, so that they too could get the vaccine for the Kovid vaccine.
Appeal to the government to apply the Kovid vaccine
Bus driver Seema Thakur said that she became a part of HRTC in 2016. He told that we all live in the danger of Kovid infection, because we cannot stop the passengers or even ask them if they are COVID-19 positive or negative. He said that drivers and conductors should also be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Thakur said that she is the only female bus driver among more than 8,800 employees of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation and she has a master’s degree in English. A passenger traveling in the bus told that we are happy and it is a happy moment for us. In this field, more and more women should come forward in such professions.
Rapid increase in corona cases
The number of active corona infected cases has crossed the 65 thousand mark in the state. According to the Health Department, there are a total of 65,242 active cases of corona infection in the state at this time. In the state, 1070 cases of deaths due to corona infection have been reported. At the same time, 60,595 patients have recovered from Corona virus infection and have gone home.
