Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on Monday (27 December). Here PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of hydroelectric projects worth more than Rs 11,000 crore at 12 noon. Earlier, the PM will preside over the second ground breaking ceremony of the Himachal Pradesh Global Investors Meet at around 11:30 am.
PM will lay the foundation stone of Renukaji Dam project. This project, pending for almost three decades, was made possible by the Prime Minister’s vision of cooperative federalism. To take this project on the ground, the central government brought them together after talking to the six states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Delhi. The construction of this 40 MW project will be done at a cost of about 7 thousand crores. This will prove to be very beneficial for Delhi. Through this, Delhi will be able to supply about 500 million cubic meters of water every year.
Foundation stone to be laid for Luhri Hydro Power Project
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of Luhri Phase I Hydroelectric Project. This 210 MW project will be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 1800 crore. This will generate more than 750 million units of electricity every year. This modern and reliable grid will also prove beneficial for the states around the region.
Dhaulasiddha Hydroelectric Project
PM will also lay the foundation stone of Dhaulasiddh hydroelectric project. This will be the first hydroelectric project of Hamirpur district. This 66 MW project will be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 680 crore. This will generate more than 300 million units of electricity every year.
Inauguration of Savara-Kuddu Hydropower Project
PM will also inaugurate the Savra-Kuddu hydroelectric project. This 111 MW project has been constructed at a cost of about 2080 crores. This will generate more than 380 million units of electricity every year and will help the state earn more than Rs 120 crore revenue annually.
28,000 crore projects launched in Global Investors Meet
PM Modi will also preside over the second ground breaking ceremony of the Himachal Pradesh Global Investors Meet. The meeting is expected to boost investment in the sector with the launch of projects worth about Rs 28,000 crore.
