The South Eastern Railway has recently issued a notification to cancel several special trains keeping in view the obstruction caused by fog during the winter season. According to the information, the trains which will remain canceled include 02583 Hatia-Anand Vihar Special. The train will not run from 30 November to 30 December. 02584 Anand Vihar-Hatia Special will remain canceled from 1st December to 3rd January.
Similarly, Northern Railway has already announced cancellation of 31 pairs of trains from December to February. In these trains, many trains including Kanpur Shatabti, Gorakhpur Humsafar are such that it has been announced to reduce the frequency. People must be thinking that there is still time for the fog to come, but why was the announcement of cancellation of trains before that. The reason for this is that people should get reservation in any other train according to their convenience and their work does not get stuck, for this the Railways has already announced. Those trains which are not canceled and will run on the track, only those passengers whose ticket will be confirmed will travel.
Reduction in the frequency of many trains
In view of the fog, the frequency of many trains has been reduced. The New Delhi-Kanpur Central Shatabdi will run from 23 December to 26 February on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. According to the Railways, a total of 21 pairs of trains have been reduced in frequency. This includes the Anand Vihar Terminal-Gorakhpur Humsafar Express which will run only on Saturdays and Sundays. At the same time, it has been decided to cancel 31 pairs of trains including Lichchavi Express, Hatia Superfast, Agra Intercity. The journey of some trains will end before the last station while the route of many has been changed.

Similarly, South Eastern Railway has informed that 08103 Tatanagar-Amritsar Special will be canceled for one month from November 29 to December 29. 08104 Amritsar-Tatanagar Special will remain canceled from 1st December to 31st December. 02585 Santragachi – Anand Vihar Special will remain canceled from 6th December to 27th December. 02586 Anand Vihar – Santragachi Special will remain canceled from 7th December to 28th December. Railway officials say that this decision has been taken in view of the inconvenience usually caused to the passengers. The foggy weather conditions between November and January often cause train delays and disruption in the movement of passenger trains.
