Horrific condition of Corona in Delhi-NCR (PTI)
Delhi-NCR ranks at the lowest point in health infrastructure and health-related services, while Pune tops the rankings. This has been revealed in a report. A survey has been conducted in the top 8 cities of the country on the basis of hospital beds, air-water quality and cleanliness, in which Pune has proved to be the top and Delhi-NCR has been a laggard. This survey was conducted by Housing.com.
Housing.com is a real estate portal owned by US news company News Corp. Its Australian group firm is REA. The survey has been released on Wednesday in the name of ‘State of Healthcare in India’. The survey has been conducted in 8 major cities of the country including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune.
How many hospital beds for 1 thousand people
Several parameters related to health services have been included in the survey. Like how many hospital beds are there per 1 thousand people, how is the air quality of that city, how is the water, what is the condition of cleanliness and how are the habitable conditions. Of these, 40 percent priority has been given to the number of hospital beds. Hospital and bed in Corona are very poor. Accordingly, this factor has been given more priority in the survey.
According to the survey, as far as health infrastructure is concerned, Pune is the most spectacular city in the country. There is a availability of 3.5 hospital beds per 1 thousand people. This number is much better in terms of national average of India. Housing.com has told ‘PTI’ in its survey. According to the survey, the average availability of half a bed in the government healthcare system and 1.4 beds in private. This figure is per 1 thousand people.
How much is the doctor
India is also the lowest in the number of doctors. There are 0.86 percent doctors per 1 thousand people. In other large and developed countries, this number is 2-4 doctors. Pune has also topped many parameters in the survey. For example, Pune has proved to be the best in terms of living facilities, quality of air, steps taken through local governance and administration. Mani Rangarajan, Group CEO of Housing.com, told PTI, India is today Asia’s third largest economy and needs to spend the most on healthcare. In the second wave of Corona, India is struggling badly to save its people. In view of future needs, full emphasis should be given on increasing healthcare infrastructure.
The condition of Delhi-NCR in the survey

The living index of Bengaluru is fine but the quality of air, quality and availability of water, work of the corporation etc. push it down. These services are not good in Bengaluru. Health services are worst in Delhi-NCR, which includes Rajdhani, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. The name of Delhi-NCR is at the bottom of the list. The quality of air and water is the worst. Along with this, the work of cleanliness and the corporation are also said to be worrisome.
Know the condition of Ghaziabad, Noida
The number of hospitals in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida is very less compared to Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad. The service sector, warehousing and manufacturing are prominent in these areas. Even after this, the health services are not the way. Mumbai is the fourth place of the Metropolitan Region in the survey. Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata are named fifth, sixth and seventh. It is advisable to increase the expenditure of healthcare system in GDP for expansion of services related to hospital, water and air. India currently spends only 3.5% on this item, while developed countries spend 10-18% on it. The availability of beds in India is 1.4 at the national level, while it is 3.2 in the countries of the world.
