Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Jai Prakash Dalal has instructed officials to explore the possibilities of constructing new godowns in rural areas as soon as possible under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Self-Reliant India Campaign’. The broker was presiding over a review meeting of officials of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Haryana Warehousing Corporation and Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
It was informed in the meeting that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board and Haryana Warehousing Corporation to build new godowns at 11 places under which the godowns were constructed by the Warehousing Corporation on the land of Agricultural Marketing Board. Will be done. Funds will also be taken from NABARD for this.

He said that even though Haryana is a small geographical region, it is the second largest state in the country in the production of food grains. He said that talks should also be held with Food Corporation of India and Central Warehousing Corporation and the process of building more and more godowns in rural areas of the state should be taken forward.
It was also informed in the meeting that Haryana Land Reforms and Development Corporation has agricultural farms in Gokalpur and Deepalpur Tahna (Rewari), Navan Narnaul and Siva Gurugram, where the land is given on lease for seed development. The total land of all these is more than 220 acres. 5 or 6 acres will be required for the warehouse, so this land can also be used.
In the meeting, Chairman of Haryana Warehousing Corporation Nayanpal Rawat, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra, Managing Director of Haryana Warehousing Corporation Rajiv Ratan, Chief Administrator of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board Vinay Singh, of Haryana Land Reforms and Development Corporation Apart from Managing Director Hardeep Kumar, other officers were also present.
