According to the news of ET Now, the Government of India can increase the subsidy on imported urea. For this, a proposal for an additional allocation of Rs 15,000 crore has been prepared, which will be sent to the Finance Ministry in the next month i.e. January 2022.
The proposal prepared in view of the rise in the global prices of fertilizers
According to the news, in view of the huge increase in the global prices of fertilizers, the Ministry of Fertilizers has prepared a proposal to increase the amount of subsidy given on fertilizers.
It is being told that in view of the current prices of urea in the international markets, the amount fixed by the Ministry of Fertilizers for subsidy, now much more amount is needed.
20 thousand crores allocated earlier for subsidy ended
In view of this whole development, the Ministry of Fertilizers has prepared a proposal to spend an additional 15 thousand crore rupees to give subsidy on imported fertilizers, which will be used till the end of the current financial year.
According to the report, for the current financial year, the Ministry of Fertilizers had allocated 20 thousand crore rupees to give subsidy on imported fertilizers, which is over. Therefore, through the second supplementary grant, an additional subsidy of Rs 15000 crore is now being planned.
Fertilizer shortage troubled the farmers

The farmers were not even able to recover from the havoc of the weather that the shortage of fertilizers increased the problems of the farmers manifold.
Due to shortage of manure, black marketing of manure started indiscriminately. As a result, farmers had to pay more than the fixed price to buy fertilizer. However, the governments took strict steps against the shortage and black marketing of fertilizers and strict action was also taken against the culprits.
