Bihar government will provide training to farmers to do natural farming in a scientific way. For this, a 14-day training program will start from May 27 in every block of the state. Along with training, farmers will also be given information about other schemes.

Bihar Agriculture Minister Amarendra Pratap Singh said that the objective of the Kharif campaign is toFarmersTo provide technical information about Kharif crops, to make them aware of crop residue management, to provide information about seasonal agricultural programs and to promote organic farming. Apart from this, along with giving information about the schemes run by the Department of Agriculture in Kharif season, promotion of special pulses and oilseed seeds distribution program is to be done. He said that on May 26, district level Kharif workshop-cum-training program would be organized in all district headquarters. In this sequence, from May 27 to June 10, a block level training-cum-material distribution program will be organized in all the block headquarters.
On the first day at the block level, the beneficiary or farmer will be given information regarding training related to advanced technology of agriculture and schemes run by the Department of Agriculture. On the second day, subsidy will be distributed on the grant for agricultural schemes. Healthy soil is essential for increasing the production and productivity of crops. It is necessary to provide soil health card to the farmers for using the recommended quantity of fertilizers. Soil health card will be provided to the farmers after collecting soil samples by conducting a campaign from 06 to 31 May by the department.
Farmers can apply for seeds
The minister said that from May 14, online applications are being taken from farmers for obtaining seeds under various schemes in Kharif season 2022, which will continue till May 25. The seeds will be distributed by May 28. He said that under the Climate Resilient Agriculture Program, demonstration of climate resilient farming techniques would be organized in 190 villages of the state in 22,610 acres. In this kharif season, cruises of 50,000 farmers will be organized in climate friendly agriculture related villages.
Natural farming target in 31,000 hectare area
In Bihar, from the financial year 2022-23 to 2024-25, an area of 31,000 hectares will be cultivated by Indian natural farming method. For this district wise physical target has been fixed. Briquette making machine has been included on pilot basis this year under mechanization scheme, which will help in crop residue management.
government assistance for horticulture
For horticulture development, farmers will be provided financial assistance for scientific horticulture on 11,025 acres in Kharif season, out of which 5,125 acres of banana, 662 acres of papaya, 1750 acres of mango, 262 acres of litchi plantation will be established. Free plant material will be provided for Under the Directorate of Land Conservation, the construction of water harvesting structures of different sizes and planting saplings related to land and water conservation will be done.
Government’s new target
Through Atma Yojana, 2,63,783 farmers will be benefited in Kharif season, under which training to 53,400 farmers in Kharif season, training to 32,040 farmers of Farmer’s Benevolent Group, training to 16,020 farmers through Kisan Pathshala and 53,400 farmers to farmers. Training will be given through seminar. Similarly, 53,400 farmers will be made aware through Kalajatha, street plays and 35,000 farmers will be given tours.
