In this sequence, the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with five companies for pilot project operation.

The government has taken a big step to increase the income of the farmers. Cisco, 63Idea Infolabs Pvt Ltd (Ninjakart), Jio Platforms Ltd. (Reliance), NCDEX E-Markets Ltd. (NEML) and ITC Ltd. Under this, better facilities will be available to the farmers. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that digitization of agriculture sector will bring a lot of benefits to the farmers as well as the country. Union Minister Tomar said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is comprehensively re-aligning the priorities in the technology sector for agriculture. Provision for implementing new and emerging digital technologies in the agriculture sector has been included since last year. The existing National e-Governance Project on Agriculture (NEGPA) has been amended and includes provisions to assist State Governments in deploying new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain, Remote Sensing and GIS, Drones and Robots etc. Is. The ministry has already approved pilot projects in 10 states, efforts are on to further expand the scope and include more projects in the coming months.
Government took big step
Tomar said that it is the result of the use of technology in the agriculture sector that under important schemes like Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, without any intermediary, the amount is being deposited transparently in the bank accounts of the farmers.
In this, more than Rs 1.57 lakh crore has been given to more than 11.37 crore farmers so far. The aim of the government is that there should be better work in the agriculture sector, for which the private sector is ready to cooperate.
Due to which it will be able to solve the challenges and the means of employment will also increase, while the farmers will get a fair price for their produce, this will bring a paradigm shift in the agriculture sector in the country.
It has been the constant effort of Prime Minister Modi that the policies should be focused on increasing the income of the farmers, better crop management, agriculture and attracting the new generation and the benefits of infrastructure should be given to the farmers at the grassroot level.
Provides services through the “Jio Krishi” platform under Jio and its affiliates Digital and IT Services. It is capable of analyzing the soil condition of the agricultural plot of the farmers and can analyze the irrigation needs. Jio Agri Platform is designed with an aim to digitize the agriculture ecosystem across the value chain to empower the farmers.
It is designed to bring key participants of the agricultural value chain on a common integrated platform and enhance efficiency in agricultural activities and transactions. In the first phase, Jalna and Nashik in Maharashtra will be started in a pilot form.
ITC has taken the initiative of “e-Choupal” network for dissemination of crop advisory information to provide various goods and services in rural areas and benefit the farmers.
E-Choupal 4.0 aims to transform the traditional crop-level generic-advisor into a more customized location-specific crop advisor for farmers using a digital crop monitoring platform hosted on the digital platform. It will be implemented in the villages of Sehore and Vidisha district (MP) regarding wheat.
Cisco has developed an Agriculture Digital Infrastructure (ADI) solution with industry partner Quantela, which includes hardware and software components for better farming and knowledge sharing.
A common software platform- Smart Agriculture Platform integrates the available sensors and information from the Department and Satellite Data Processing Solution into a single dashboard providing real time status. Proof of Concept has been implemented in selected districts of the target states.
It will collect important information on crop forecast, weather patterns, plant disease patterns, soil quality, moisture content etc. The consolidated information collected from farms and farmers will play an important role in the data pool under the National Agriculture Stack by the Ministry of Agriculture. NEML Digital Marketplace will help in enhancing the livelihood of farmers and inclusive growth in the agriculture sector. Its four services: Market linkage, Demand aggregation, Financial linkage, Data sanitization These serve as the foundation for innovative agri-centric solutions with the overall goal of doubling farmers’ income by leveraging technologies to enhance farmers’ income and contribute towards improving farm sector efficiency. will work. This project will start in Guntur (Andhrap), Devanagare (Karnataka), Nashik (Maharashtra).
Ninjakart will develop and host the Agri Marketplace platform, which will be able to bring together participants in post-harvest market linkages. Right now he is supplying about two thousand tonnes of produce directly to the farmers. Experts/entities are involved in this linkage. The AMP platform will enable it to be digitally enabled, thereby enabling overall market linkages. That product will be able to seamlessly align multiple modes of supply based on specific features. The places where the Proof of Concept (POC) will be conducted are Chhindwara and Indore (MP) and Anand (Gujarat).
