Bullet train will run at a speed of 320 km per hour
Bilimora is a town in Navsari district of South Gujarat. Under this project, a bullet train is to be run at a speed of 320 km per hour in the High Speed Rail (HSR) corridor between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. This distance is 508 kilometers and there will be 12 stations between the two destinations. At present, the journey between the two cities takes six hours but is expected to reduce to three hours after the introduction of the bullet train. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 1.1 lakh crore and 81 percent of the cost will be borne by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
More than 90% land acquired for bullet train project
More than 90 percent of the total land required for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project has been acquired. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the implementing agency of the project, has given this information. NHSRCL said that out of 1,396 hectares of land required for the project, 1,260.76 hectares i.e. 90.31 percent has been acquired till June 5. In Gujarat, 98.79 per cent of the land required for the project has been acquired, while in neighboring Maharashtra the figure is 71.49 per cent.
