Big change in the decades old recruitment process
Earlier, in order to deal with the future security challenges facing the country, the Central Government on Tuesday announced the ‘Agneepath’ scheme for the recruitment of soldiers in the Army, Navy and Air Force, making a radical change in the decades-old defense recruitment process. been done. Under this scheme, the recruitment of soldiers will be done on contract basis for a short period of four years.
Giving information regarding major changes in the decades-old selection process to recruit soldiers in the army and security forces, the Ministry of Defense said that under the scheme, 46,000 soldiers will be recruited in the three services this year and the eligibility age for selection is 17.5 years. Will be between 21 years and will be called ‘Agniveer’.
‘Agniveer’ will get 30 thousand rupees every month
The monthly salary of an ‘Agniveer’ in the initial year of employment would be Rs 30,000, but only Rs 21,000 would come in hand. Every month Rs 9,000 will go to a fund with equal contribution from the government. Thereafter, in the second, third and fourth years of service, the monthly salary will be Rs 33,000, Rs 36,500 and Rs 40,000 respectively. Each ‘Agniveer’ will get an amount of Rs 11.71 lakh as ‘Service Fund Package’ and will be exempted from income tax.
This recruitment will be done at the level of ‘All India, All Class’ in the three army. It will also drastically change the composition of many regiments that recruit youth from communities such as Rajputs, Jats and Sikhs, apart from recruiting from specific areas.
