Rajasthan government has given big relief to the farmers in Kusum Component-A scheme, how much capacity the project has been allocated, know everything about it.

Under the PM Kusum Yojana, the government has given big relief to the farmers in the Kusum Component-A scheme being run in Rajasthan. The last date for project installation has been extended from 7 July 2021 to 31 March 2022. This will help the selected farmers and developers for setting up solar power plants on their barren and unusable land.
Dr. Subodh Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Renewable Energy Corporation said that farmers and developers who are unable to get financial loans from banks for setting up solar plants under the scheme have also been given relief.
What is a money discount?
It has been decided to return the security deposit of Rs 1 lakh per MW and project security amount of Rs 5 lakh per MW deposited by them to such applicants.
Dr. Aggarwal informed that under Kusum Component-A scheme, electricity purchased from farmers and developers is being paid on time by the Electricity Distribution Corporations.
Easy to take loan from banks
Along with this, Letter of Credit (LC) is also being issued by the Electricity Distribution Corporations in favor of solar power producers. As a result of this scheme, it has become more accessible for the farmers and developers to get loans from banks for setting up the project.
Allocation of 722 MW capacity in the state
Dr. Aggarwal said that the government is working to earn extra income by setting up solar power plants on the barren and unusable land of the farmers. Under this scheme, 722 MW capacity solar power projects have been allocated by 623 farmers and developers in the state. Out of which the generation of 9 MW power has started from 7 projects.

The state government is trying to provide loans from banks to solar energy producers. Escrow accounts are being opened by Rajasthan Vidyut Vitran Nigams by making tripartite agreements. Under this, a contract is made between the lender bank, the farmer and the Rajasthan Electricity Distribution Corporation. Due to the opening of LC and Escrow account by Vidyut Vitran Nigam, the loan of the banks has become safe.
