Yatra is being run well: CM Dhami
The CM said, “After the opening of the portal, the crowd has now been controlled to some extent and the yatra is being run in a better way. Pre-registration is being made mandatory for pilgrimage.” With this, the Uttarakhand government on Tuesday issued an advisory for Char Dham pilgrims asking them to get themselves medically examined before embarking on the arduous journey to the temples of the Himalayas. The advisory was issued by Health Secretary Radhika Jha in a review meeting on Tuesday.
The advisory has been issued in the wake of 18 pilgrims who died of heart attack on their way to the temples within a week of the commencement of the yatra on May 3. Jha said in the meeting, the pilgrims, especially the elderly who have been previously hit by COVID-19 or those suffering from high blood pressure and high diabetes, should get themselves self-examined especially before going on the pilgrimage to the Himalayan temples. .
