The Congress has decided to retain Girish Chodankar as its state unit president and former chief minister Digamber Kamat as the leader of the legislature party in view of the Goa Assembly elections to be held next year. Along with this, the party has also constituted five committees related to the elections.

Election coordination committee headed by senior leader Luizinho Faleiro, election campaign committee led by Reginaldo Lurenco, finance committee led by Francisco Sardinha, manifesto committee headed by Ramakant Khalap and campaign committee led by Chandrakant Chodankar have been constituted. Assembly elections are proposed in Goa in February-March next year.
P Chidambaram was on Goa tour
Earlier, former Union Minister P Chidambaram had gone on a tour of Goa. He said that the party is gearing up for the elections.
