Oil companies have released the price of petrol and diesel for Thursday. After Wednesday’s hike, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel today (Thursday, June 17). Meanwhile, there has been a slight decline in the price of crude oil in the international market. After a continuous increase for about one and a half months, now the prices of petrol and diesel are at a record level. With the increase in fuel prices, the expenditure on the common man has now increased.
The round of increase in the price of petrol and diesel started from 4th May. After the price of petrol has crossed 100, diesel has also hit a century in some cities. On the one hand, rising fuel prices are affecting the common people of the country. On the other hand, the government is blaming the rise in crude oil for the rising prices of petrol and diesel. India imports more than 80 percent of its crude oil requirement. Recently, the government has asked the states to reduce the VAT levied on petrol and diesel.
Now what is the price of petrol and diesel
After the prices remain stable today, the price of petrol per liter in Delhi is Rs 96.66 and diesel is Rs 87.41. Petrol in Mumbai today is at Rs 102.82 and diesel at Rs 94.84 per liter. Today, the price of petrol per liter in Kolkata is Rs 96.58 and the price of diesel is Rs 90.25. The new prices of petrol and diesel in Chennai today are Rs 97.91 and Rs 92.04 per liter respectively.

Talking about crude oil, there has been a slight decline in the prices of crude oil in the international market. On Wednesday, the WTI crude oil benchmark fell by 0.85 percent to $ 72.54 per barrel. Whereas the price of Brent crude is reduced by the same percentage to $ 73.76 per barrel.
