Fog Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has provided an updated forecast for the weather conditions in several areas of East India over the next few days. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of a significant increase in minimum temperatures while the fog’s intensity will be reduced today. This is a welcome change for those who rely on clear visibility for their daily commutes or travel plans. Motorists can expect smooth sailing on the roads and no delays due to low visibility. The lack of fog also means that air quality will be better, providing a healthy and refreshing start to the day.
In addition to the rise in temperatures, moderate fog is also likely to develop across regions of Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha during the same time frame. This could lead to reduced visibility on the roads, and travellers should exercise caution while driving or flying during these conditions.
On the other hand, the IMD has also issued a warning of severe precipitation in the form of rain and snowfall over the northwestern plains of India from January 24th to 26th. People living in these regions should closely monitor weather updates and follow the advice provided by local authorities.

Delhi
The national capital was observed fog-free last night and the effect is predicted to continue in the today morning. As per the latest fog update, the visibility in Delhi would be 1000 metres in the early morning and then improve up to 2500 metres as noon approaches.
Lucknow
Similar to Delhi, Lucknow would see relief today. IMD predicts the visibility to remain around 1000 metres in mist/smoke and eventually improve up to 1500 metres during the day.

Jaipur
See-saw conditions regarding fog are continuing in Jaipur. As per the latest forecasts, Jaipur is predicted to remain fog-free while yesterday there was a visibility drop of up to 500 metres.
Amritsar
In comparison to yesterday, much dense fog will engulf Amritsar. Though, it will be lesser in comparison to peak in the coldwave. IMD predicts the visibility to be around 800 metres in the morning.
