On cultivating pulses and oilseeds, the Haryana government will give incentive amount to the farmers at the rate of Rs 4000 per acre. So that people leave more water crops like paddy and cultivate less water crops. Especially those crops in which India is not yet self-sufficient. Crops of which we are still an importer. Crop Diversification (Crop DiversificationUnder this scheme, the Haryana government is giving Rs 7000 per acre for leaving paddy cultivation, while it is getting Rs 4000 for adopting pulses and oilseeds. But a condition applies for this. The condition is that only those farmers will get its benefit who will be registered on Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal. Without registering on this portal, you cannot take advantage of any scheme in Haryana.
Haryana government is working very aggressively on crop diversification scheme. So that the crops causing water crisis in the state are minimized. Under this, an assistance of Rs 4000 per acre has been announced to promote pulses farming and oilseeds crops. It has been told that this year the state government will promote pulses and oilseed crops in about one lakh acres. No other state is working in this field as fast as Haryana.
How will the applicant farmers get the money?
According to Dr. Atma Ram Godara, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department, a target has been fixed to promote pulses in 70 thousand acres and oilseeds in 30 thousand acres under the scheme. This scheme has been implemented in Charkhi Dadri, Bhiwani, Rewari, Mahendragarh, Hisar, Nuh and Jhajjar. Under this, to take advantage of the incentive amount, first I have to get my crop registered on the My Byora portal. You have to tell how much area area you have sown pulses and oilseeds crops. After this the Agriculture Department will get the verification done. If found correct, money will be sent to your account.
The plan is also beneficial in terms of price
Farmers will get double benefit from this scheme. One, the government will give money. The benefits of pulses and oilseeds are more in comparison to other crops of the second kharif season. At present, the prices of crops coming in these two are running above the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The market price of mustard and soybean is more than the MSP by Rs 2500 per quintal. The rate of Arhar and Urad is also usually high. Let us tell you that at present, India imports edible oil worth about 70 thousand crore rupees and pulses worth 8-10 thousand crore rupees annually. When production is more, this import will stop.
