Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chadhuni – Hopefully, it is possible that someone may call from the government’s side for talks today.
The central government has withdrawn all three agricultural laws, but the farmers are still sitting on the border of Delhi with their other demands. Farmers say that till their other demands are not fulfilled, they will stand on the border of Delhi. A committee of 5 members has been formed by the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) to get its other demands fulfilled and to negotiate with the government. Today it is expected that a meeting can be held between the government and this committee formed by the farmers, which will discuss other issues.
Committee member Gurnam Singh Chaduni says that no phone call or message has come from the government yet about when the meeting will take place. If there is a conversation, there will be a meeting. We have conveyed our point to the government that we have formed a committee of 5 members. If the government wants to talk, it can. There are other issues including guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP), compensation, return of cases filed against farmers, which have to be talked about.
Gurnam Singh Chaduni also says that it is expected that someone may call for talks from the government’s side today. Talks could not be made with the CM of Haryana, further talks will take place. If there is a problem in the figures of the farmers who have died, then the government should get it investigated. All matters will be settled together.
