Farmers’ organizations are continuously protesting against the lathi-charge on farmers in Karnal, Haryana. The talks between the farmers and the administration on Tuesday turned out to be fruitless. After this, his performance continues on Wednesday as well. Thousands of farmers, led by farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, are sitting on a dharna near the secretariat. The demand of the farmers is that action should be taken against the SDM, nothing less than this is acceptable. However, the administration has so far refused to accept their demand.

Administration and farmers face to face

Along with this, he has demanded to register a murder case against the SDM. But there is no consensus on the demands between the government and the farmers.
Farmers spent the night outside the secretariat
Several farmers, along with several leaders of the United Kisan Morcha, spent the night outside the main entrance of the Mini Secretariat. In the morning, volunteers were seen making tea and serving breakfast at the protest site. Meanwhile, the administration had called the farmers for a second round of talks and an 11-member farmer panel left the protest site for talks.
Internet service turned off
The Home Department on Tuesday extended the suspension of mobile internet service in Karnal till midnight on Wednesday, citing the sensitivity of the situation. Earlier these services were suspended in Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind and Panipat till midnight on Tuesday. “The protests are expected to intensify further which may adversely affect public safety and may disturb the law and order situation in Karnal,” the order said. The order did not say about the remaining four districts.
