IMD issued red alert for these districts
According to IMD, on Tuesday, 28 September, there may be heavy rain in Valsad district of Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Valsad.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an ‘Orange Alert’ in three districts of Kerala and a ‘Yellow Alert’ for all other districts of the state due to heavy rains. Also, fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea in view of the flood situation. An ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts.
Strong Southwest Monsoon
The IMD said that the Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in the state and heavy rains have occurred in the last 24 hours. Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district has received over 17 cm of rain. Apart from this, Neyyattinkara and Vellayani in Thiruvananthapuram district, Aryankavu in Kollam and Sitathode in Pathanamthitta received 13 cm of rain.
The IMD website said, “Wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely over Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea on September 27 and 28.”
20 cm rain likely in 24 hours
A yellow alert has been sounded in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Malappuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today. Red alert is an indication of more than 20 cm of rain in 24 hours. Range Alert 6 to 20 cm of rain and Yellow Alert 6 to 11 cm of rain is indicated.
Heavy rain may occur in this district on Tuesday

Red alert issued for these districts on Wednesday
On Wednesday, 29 September, a warning of heavy rain has been given in many districts of the country. According to IMD data, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Dhule, Jalgaon, Palghar, Thane and Raigad districts of Maharashtra along with Rajkot in Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for these districts.
