External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia from October 10 to 13, during which the External Affairs Minister will share views on bilateral relations during his three-nation visit.

Jaishankar will be in the Kyrgyz Republic on October 10-11. This will be his first country visit as foreign minister. He will hold bilateral meetings with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan besides meeting the President of Kyrgyzstan there. At the same time, some agreements are also likely to be signed during the visit.

Will be in Kazakhstan from October 11-12

Thereafter, from October 11-12, he will be in Kazakhstan to attend the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Confidence Building Measures in Asia Conference in Nur-Sultan. Kazakhstan is the current president and initiator of the CICA Forum. There the External Affairs Minister is also expected to hold bilateral talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan and meet the Kazakh leadership.

Will visit Armenia on 12-13 October

At the same time, he will visit Armenia on 12-13 October. This will be the first visit by an Indian foreign minister to independent Armenia. He will hold meetings with his Armenian counterpart as well as meet the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia. The visit will provide an opportunity to review progress in our bilateral relations with the three countries as well as share views on the development of the region. This will be a continuation of our increased engagement with the countries of our ‘extended neighbourhood’, an official statement said.
