Employees of Shimla’s Rashtrapati Niwas infected with corona, now His Excellency will stay in private hotel

President Ram Nath Kovind (President Ram Nath Kovind) will be on a four-day tour of Himachal Pradesh from Thursday. During this, he will stay in a private hotel instead of the President’s residence. During his visit, the President will address a special session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. An official said that Kovind will stay at the Cecil Hotel instead of the retreat (Rashtrapati Niwas located in Chharabra, Shimla). Four employees of the retreat were confirmed to be suffering from COVID-19 on Saturday.

He said that President Kovind will address a special session of the Legislative Assembly and be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service at the National Audit and Accounts Academy in Shimla. He said that people coming in close contact with the President will have to report not being infected with the corona virus, even if they have taken both doses of the COVID vaccines.

Apart from the sitting MLAs, former Chief Ministers including former Chief Ministers Shanta Kumar and Prem Kumar Dhumal and all former MLAs have been invited for the special session, the official said.

93 former MLAs, including Kumar and Dhumal, have given their consent to participate in the special session. He told that five MPs and seven former MPs of the state will also attend the session.

According to the schedule, the President will reach Annadale helipad from Delhi’s Palam airport via Chandigarh on September 16, a state government official said. After this, he will reach the Cecil Hotel located here at around 12.25 pm. The President will address a special session of the Legislative Assembly on Friday from 11 am to 12 noon. He said that he will attend a cultural program on Friday evening at 7.30 pm and will attend a banquet hosted by the governor at 8 pm.

The President will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service at the National Audit and Accounts Academy, Shimla on September 18 from 11 am to 12 noon. The official said that on September 19, he will leave for Delhi.
