Delhi Metro has tied up with Amazon for online shopping website.
Giving this information, Delhi Metro had told from its official Twitter handle, ‘DMRC Director Dr. Mangu Singh and Amazon Pay CEO Mahendra Nerurkar have started the facility to recharge the smart card of Delhi Metro through Amazon Pay. . ‘ On this occasion, Dr. Mangu Singh said, ‘This initiative is in line with Delhi Metro’s commitment to support digital drives by promoting cashless transactions. This feature can be availed by clicking on ‘Metro Recharge’ option on Amazon Pay.
Recharge your smart card in this way with Amazon Pay
To avail this facility from Amazon Pay, you must first go to the online shopping website Amazon or its app. After this, you will click on the Metro recharge option under the Amazon Pay tab. Now you have to follow some easy steps. After this, you will enter your metro card number. There is a facility of recharging from 100 rupees to 2000 rupees here. You can pay by clicking on the amount you want to recharge.

Around 30 lakhs travel daily
Before the Corona lockdown, about 3 million passengers used to travel daily in the Delhi Metro. However, the metro was closed from 22 March 202o due to the lockdown imposed to prevent the outbreak of the Corona epidemic and the metro was reopened to the public on 07 September 2020. In the month of September 2019, an average of 29.66 lakh people traveled daily in the metro.
