Raisins production affected by climate change
Just as climate change has affected the production of grapes, the production of raisins has also been affected due to stormy winds and scorching heat. Raisins are produced the most in Solapur, Sangli, Nashik and some states of Karnataka. This year the production process started in December but, due to unseasonal rains and strong winds for several months, it has affected the production of raisins, due to non-production of quality raisins, the farmers could not get the expected rate. In such adverse circumstances, grape growers have got the support of this raisin. Although there was no sharp increase in the prices despite the fall in production, but the prices are not so low, due to which the farmers have got some relief.
Demand increased due to festival and marriage ceremony
At present, the process of making raisins has been completed. One lakh 60 thousand tonnes of raisins have been produced in the state. On one hand, where there has been less than average raisins production, on the other hand, due to the current festivals and weddings, the demand for raisins is high. As 1,500 tonnes of raisins have been sold in the markets of Sangli, Tasgaon and Pandharpur, therefore, traders are predicting a further increase in demand in the near future. Therefore, we are compensating for the loss caused by grapes and farmers are hopeful that the yield of raisins will increase further.
How much is the rate of raisins in the markets
These are the prices of raisins which are being sold in the major markets of the state. The price of number one raisins is Rs 160 to 220 per kg, while number two is selling at Rs 110 to 150 and the less good quality variety is selling at Rs 10 to 60 per kg. Since these rates are normal, it is expected That demand will increase and prices will improve in the future.
