Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor Project: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over the tunnels and five underpasses built under the Pragati Maidan Integrated Corridor Project to the country today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) On Sunday, five underpasses including the main tunnel of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Corridor Project will be handed over to the nation. He will also address the people on this occasion. Integrated Corridor Project (Integrated Transit Corridor Project) Pragati Maidan is an integral part of the redevelopment project. The Integrated Corridor Project has been prepared at a cost of Rs 920 crore, which is fully funded by the Central Government. With the help of this corridor, it will be easy to travel to and from ITO to South Delhi and Noida.
A release from the PMO said that the purpose of the corridor is to provide easy access to the world-class exhibition and convention center at Pragati Maidan. So that the exhibitors and visitors do not face any kind of problem in the programs organized there. The release said, ‘Its effect will be visible beyond Pragati Maidan. This will ensure smooth movement of transport, thereby saving time and cost of passengers. This is part of the vision of the government, under which the life of the people will be made easier by changing the infrastructure of the city.
The tunnel is divided into six lanes
The main tunnel connects Ring Road to India Gate via Purana Qila Road passing through Pragati Maidan. There are many reasons behind the construction of this six-lane divided tunnel. Including access to Pragati Maidan’s large basement parking. The most striking feature of the tunnel is that two cross tunnels have been built under the main tunnel road to facilitate the movement of traffic from both sides of the parking space, the release said. According to the release, it has been provided with facilities like fire management, modern ventilation, automatic drainage, digitally controlled CCTV and tunnel announcement system.
Another special feature of the tunnel is that it will serve as an alternate route to Bhairon Marg. It will handle more than half the traffic load of this route. There are also four underpasses under the project, four on Mathura Road, one at Bhairon Marg, one at Ring Road and one at the intersection of Bhairon Marg. This tunnel built in Pragati Maidan is 1.2 km long. In which smart lightning has been arranged. Apart from this, adjust fans made in Germany have been installed to remove pollution. The walls of the underpass are decorated with artifacts.
