A police constable on Sunday shot dead his 36-year-old brother-in-law with his service pistol over a financial dispute in Delhi’s Safdarjung Enclave area. Officials gave this information on Sunday. He said that accused Vikram Singh killed Virendra Nandal, a resident of Rohtak in Haryana and Sub-Inspector in Haryana Police, on Sunday.
Officials said Singh is posted as a constable at Greater Kailash police station in Delhi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West) Gaurav Sharma said that information was received about this incident at Krishna Nagar in Safdarjung Enclave around 8 am on Sunday morning. When the police reached the spot, Nandal was found dead. He had bullet marks in his head.
Shot fired after altercation
Police said Nandal was a judo player and a sub-inspector in the Haryana Police. He was living with Singh in his house for five-six days. He said that Singh had taken money from Nandal. Nandal was asking to return the money. Police said a scuffle broke out between the two on Sunday morning and Nandal abused Singh. Later Singh shot Nandal with his service pistol.

Singh informed his wife, who was sleeping in another room after killing Nandal, who informed the police. Police said Singh was immediately arrested. His pistol has been recovered. He said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections. The postmortem of the deceased will be done at Safdarjung Hospital.
