A sudden fire broke out on the second floor of Vishal Mega Mart in Karol Bagh in Delhi, the country's capital. In addition to the local police, 15 fire engines reached the spot and started the work of extinguishing the fire. According to the information, the fire is on the third floor. Efforts are being made to extinguish it.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer MK Chattopadhyay said that at present there is a fire on the third floor and there is oil and ghee kept there. We have extinguished the fire of the rest of the building including basement, ground floor, first floor and second floor. Electricity was cut during the fire. Therefore, a person present in the lift had stopped in the middle, due to which he got trapped. We have taken him out and sent him to the hospital.
However, all the people present there came out safely. But a person is feared to be trapped in the building. His search was going on till the news was written. Atul Garg, director of the fire brigade, said that the department had received information about the fire at around 6.44 pm on Friday evening.
Fire officer MK Chattopadhyay said that the fire started from the second floor of the building. At the same time, due to clothes and plastic items, the fire had spread rapidly in the entire building. After which the fire brigade personnel started extinguishing the fire.
The fire officer said that a lot of clothes and other items are filled in the basement of the building, due to which there is a problem in controlling the fire. Fire is repeatedly provoking. Middle District Deputy Commissioner Nidhin Walson said that clothes and groceries are sold in the showroom of Vishal Mega Mart. At present, fire brigade workers are busy extinguishing the fire.
