The second wave of Corona has caused uproar across the country including the capital Delhi. What is common and what is special between the growing infection of the corona. During this time, many policemen are also falling prey to it, and many have died after being infected. In the last 55 days, since March 11, 4245 Delhi Police Policemen have been infected with Corona, out of which 25 have died after being infected.
According to the report of the Indian Express, the maximum infection has been seen in the Police Control Room (PCR) unit. 441 workers of PCR unit have been infected. At the same time, 343 policemen of the Security Unit and 242 Traffic Unit of Police have come under the grip of Corona. So far, 73,902 personnel have been given the first dose of corona vaccine and 63, 510 have received both doses.
A media report quoted an official as saying that as of March 10, about 7,724 police personnel had been infected with the corona in a year, of which 34 had died. A senior official has been quoted as saying that a total of 80,276 police personnel have registered themselves on the Kovin app.
65 policemen posted in PM’s security wing have been found infected
PCR unit has the highest number of policemen – around 8,000, who are the first to arrive on any type of call. Apart from this, 343 cases of security unit have been reported. The officer said that 145 infected policemen are those who were posted in LG House, CM House, Vidhan Sabha. He said that 65 of the policemen posted in the Prime Minister’s security wing have been found infected.
Sharing district-wise information, the official said, the maximum number of 199 cases were reported in North West Delhi, 157 in Rohini district, 150 in Shahdara, 139 in Central Delhi, 138 from Outer North. He said that at least 98 cases were registered in South East, 107 South and 117 cases in East Delhi.
More than 100 policemen turned positive at Delhi Police Headquarters
Apart from districts, 163 cases of training schools, 109 cases of crime branch, 102 cases of special cell and 57 cases of police personnel in Rashtrapati Bhavan Security Unit were registered. According to the officer, in the last four weeks, officers of one special CP, three JCP and six DCP rank have been found infected. He said that more than 100 policemen posted at Delhi Police Headquarters have been found to be Corona positive.
