This decision has been taken in the board meeting of Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation on Wednesday. On this occasion, Industries Minister Satyendra Jain said that electric vehicles are our future, because with this we can make a pollution free Delhi. Charging and battery swapping stations will be set up at three places in Delhi so that those who buy electric vehicles do not face any problem in charging. For this, DSIIDC has identified a place. Also, the responsibility of installation of charging and battery swapping stations has been entrusted to DTL.
Emphasis on installation of charging and battery swapping stations
Delhi Industries Minister Satyendra Jain said that electric vehicles are being promoted rapidly in the city to realize Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s vision of making Delhi the capital of electric vehicles. A large number of people are also buying electric bikes and cars in Delhi. However, many times people remain skeptical about the charging of these vehicles that the risk of traveling far from electric vehicles cannot be taken.
Satyendra Jain said that the biggest problem in front of people is that where and how they will charge their vehicle. In such a situation, to overcome the problems of the people, the Delhi government is emphasizing on the installation of charging and battery swapping stations. Once installed, these locations along with their real-time location and availability of charging points will also be available on the Delhi government’s One Delhi app. Also, driving an electric vehicle will be a hassle-free task for the people. Satyendra Jain said that just as petrol pumps are seen everywhere today, in the same way EV charging centers and swapping stations will also be seen everywhere in the coming times.
Where will the e-charging and battery swapping stations be built?
E-vehicle charging and battery swapping stations will be set up at Patparganj (near Kia Motors), Bawana Industrial Area Sector-5 and Narela Sector-B. Let us inform that the Electric Vehicle Policy was implemented by the Delhi Government on August 7, 2020 with a view to make Delhi the Electric Vehicle Capital of the country. The main goal of this policy is to accelerate the pace of adoption of electric vehicles in various segments. Subsidy has also been given by the Kejriwal government on the purchase of electric vehicles. Industry Minister Satyendar Jain said that in the Electric Vehicle Policy, along with EV charging, battery swapping is being promoted equally.
The Electric Vehicle Charging and Battery Swapping stations to be built at Patparganj, Bawana Industrial Area Sector-5 and Narela Sector-B will cater to the charging needs of vehicles of Delhiites. This will also increase the tendency of the people of the area to use electric vehicles and will get relief from pollution in the industrial area. These centers will be quite modern, where the facility of charging vehicles and swapping batteries will also be available. Here the battery of electric vehicles can be swapped within minutes.
Roads will be improved in Mangolpuri Industrial Area
In the board meeting of DSIIDC, an important decision was also taken regarding the maintenance of drains and roads in Mangolpuri Industrial Area. Industries Minister Satyendar Jain said that the Delhi government is committed to promote industrial development and ease of doing business. The aim of the government is to bring the affected industries back on track as well as to create new employment opportunities for the youth. Work will be done by the Delhi government to make Mangolpuri Industrial Area Phase-1 green, clean and better. Along with this, sewage, general waste treatment plants, industrial waste disposal systems and roads will be improved.
