Five people engaged in black marketing of Remedesivir have been arrested from different parts of Delhi amidst sharp increase in Coronavirus cases. Three people have been arrested in South Delhi while two people have been detained in West Delhi. Police said that those arrested on Sunday in South Delhi have been identified as Likha Gupta (30), a resident of Patparganj, Akash Verma (23) residing in Darya Ganj and Anuj Jain (40), a resident of Geeta Colony.
Police Deputy Commissioner (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said, “A car was searched near India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road. Upon investigation, four injections of Remadecivir were found from Gupta and Varma. ” The officer said that the arrested people told the police that they used to sell an injection to the needy people for Rs 70,000. The police also arrested two people in West Delhi for alleged black marketing of the drug Remedesvir.
Police said that Gurpreet Singh (29) and Anuj Jaiswal (30) were arrested on Sunday after secret information received by the personnel of Tilak Nagar police station. Singh does business in Kalapoorje in Mayapuri while Jaiswal works in a hospital in Krishnanagar. Remdacivir drug was recovered from both.
Black marketing of Remedisvir amid shortage of medicines
While, on the one hand, cases of corona infection are increasing in the whole country, on the other hand, problems of shortage of medicines are also coming out of most hospitals across the country. Meanwhile, black marketers of Remedesvir injection are also being arrested in many places. These thugs have stolen Remedesivir injections from hospitals somewhere and bought them and stocked them elsewhere. Even before this, the Naka police in Lucknow arrested four people, including 2 nursing staff, who blacklisted Remdesvir on Friday.
Cases exposed to black marketing of Remedicivir injection
The police had said that the names of the arrested accused are Ramsagar, Amandeep, Ankur Vaishya and Anshu Gupta. Amandeep was posted as a nursing staff at Madar Scope Hospital and Ramsagar KGMU. All these people were arrested by Naka Police near Charbagh Metro Station in Lucknow. 116 Remadecivir injections, Rs 1,94,310, 4 mobile phones and 3 two-wheelers were also recovered from the accused. Earlier, the police team also arrested four people near Era Medical College in Thakurganj for black marketing of Remedesvir.
