India is an agricultural country and there is a lot of potential in this field. Farmers are now making these possibilities an opportunity for themselves. Till now only farmers doing traditional farming are turning towards high-income crops. Not only is the central government trying to double the income of the farmers, but the farmers are also leaving no stone unturned on their behalf.
The farmers of the country, who cultivate paddy, wheat, maize, soybean, pulses and oilseeds, have started cultivating different types of plants along with these crops. One such medicinal plant is Brahmi. It is considered very important from the point of view of Ayurveda. Some people also consider it a brain booster. It is used in the manufacture of all medicines from oil.
Agriculture is done in all the states of India
With the changing times and especially after the corona epidemic, the trend of people towards Ayurveda has increased. This is the reason why plant products like Brahmi have also increased in demand. However, due to lack of production, companies have to import it from other countries as well. But a large area in India is suitable for cultivation of Brahmi. Seeing the benefits of this crop to the farmers and its demand, the government is also encouraging the cultivation of Brahmi.
Apart from India, it is cultivated in the countries of North and South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Brahmi can be easily cultivated in tropical climate. Normal temperature is most suitable for its cultivation. Brahmi plants grow in the wild on the banks of ponds, rivers, canals and water bodies. It is cultivated in more or less all the states in India.
Farmers get yield after three to four years from one crop
Brahmi is cultivated like paddy. That is, seedlings are prepared by putting nursery first. After this it is planted in the already prepared field. The cultivating farmers tell that its plants should be planted at a distance of about half a feet on the ridge. There should be a distance of about 25 to 30 cm between each weed. When planted in this way, the yield is good and the farmers get the benefit of it.
Weeding and irrigation are necessary after transplanting. Farmers say that after four months of transplanting, the brahmi crop is ready for the first harvesting. Farmers get yield from this crop after three to four years in a year. For this reason, it becomes a source of big income. Leaves and roots of Brahmi are sold.
