What is SIM Swap?

In this, criminals issue a new SIM card for your registered mobile number through the mobile service provider. With the help of the new SIM card, the criminal gets the necessary URN/OTP and alerts for the financial transactions done through your bank account.

How do criminals target?

  • Cyber ​​criminals get your registered mobile number and bank account details through phishing or malware.
  • After this, they contact the mobile service provider with the identity of the correct customer on the pretext of losing the mobile, SIM card getting damaged.
  • After customer verification, the mobile service provider deactivates the old SIM card with the customers and issues a new SIM card to the offender.
