BJP national president JP Nadda changed the face of the organization in Rajasthan and handed over the command of the state BJP to Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi in place of Satish Poonia. This is being called the second big “master stroke” of the BJP high command in the election year. As much as the departure of Satish Poonia is not shocking, the more surprising thing is the appointment of CP Joshi.
The high command once again surprised everyone by making Joshi the Rajasthan BJP president. But the question is why and for what reason did all this happen?
Satish Poonia’s tenure is over
Satish Poonia was the President of Rajasthan BJP for three and a half years. He was made the President of Rajasthan BJP on 14 September 2019 after the then state BJP President Madanlal Saini passed away in June 2019. After this, on 27 December 2019, Poonia was declared unopposed president by adopting the organization election process.
BJP high command’s choice, deep connection with Sangh
Satish Poonia is considered special to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Chief JP Nadda and state in-charge Arun Singh. PM Modi himself praised the work done by Rajasthan BJP during Covid-19. At the same time, Nadda has also praised Poonia’s tenure on several occasions. Recently Poonia had met PM Modi. Since then it was being speculated that BJP would once again give the command of the organization to Satish Poonia in Rajasthan in the election year, but this did not happen and CP Joshi was made the new president.
Satish Poonia’s reaction came to the fore after CP Joshi was made the president of Rajasthan. He thanked JP Nadda and said that together we will form the BJP government with absolute majority in Rajasthan in 2023.
Satish Poonia tweeted;
I am grateful to the party for honoring a worker born in an ordinary farmer’s house like me by giving him responsibility for three years. In these three years, he was able to contribute in activating the party with full force on the ground through organizational structure and agitation. As a worker, I will continue to work for the rest of my life as per the instructions of the party.
Why did CP Joshi get the command instead of Poonia?
Since 2014, Modi-Shah surprises both the party and the opposition with their decisions every time. This happened even when Satish Poonia was given the responsibility and this time the appointment of CP Joshi surprised everyone.
47-year-old Chandra Prakash Joshi is 9 years younger than Satish Poonia. He has been the President of BJP Yuva Morcha in Rajasthan. He has an impeccable reputation and is said to be the favorite of the BJP high command.
