Under this, the work of procurement of wheat in all the grain markets has also been stopped. Whereas in the last lockdown of 2020, agricultural activities were excluded from the ban. At present, wheat procurement will not be done in all the mandis nor will any gate pass be issued.
The state government has urged all the farmers to remain at home during this epidemic. Do not leave the house without any necessary work. A total of 83.53 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in the state mandis till May 2, 2021. A total of 80.51 lakh tonnes of wheat has been purchased so far by government procurement agencies.
Instructions to raise wheat
So far, 9,15,049 J forms of 4,99,377 farmers have been made. Through this purchase is made. The government has paid Rs 9270 crore till May 2 in the accounts of the farmers. For the first time, money is being sent to the bank account of all farmers. Whereas before, money was given through adhatiyas. All concerned have been instructed to lift wheat procured in the mandis on a daily basis.
Government has achieved its target
The state government has achieved the goal of buying wheat, so it does not have much worries now. The target was 8 million metric tons. More purchases have been made than that. Even after the lockdown is over, there can be another 5 days of purchase. Because the purchase process will be closed on 15 May.
No payment on time
Merchant leader Bajrang Garg alleges that despite all the instructions, wheat is not being raised daily from the mandis. Meanwhile, the government had already banned the purchase of wheat in 17 districts till May 3 due to bad weather. Farmers are also not getting paid on time. However, the government has promised that farmers will get 9 percent interest if the crop purchase is not paid within 72 hours. More than ten thousand farmers have received interest.
