There have been 42,909 new cases of corona virus infection in the country and 380 people died. In the last 24 hours, 34,763 people were also cured of the infection. According to the new data of the Union Health Ministry, after the arrival of new cases, the total number of infected cases has increased to 3.27 crore, in which about 3.19 crore people have been cured. The recovery rate in the country is currently 97.51 percent. At the same time, the number of active cases in the country has increased to 3,76,324, which is 1.15 percent of the total cases of infection.
According to the Ministry of Health, 4,38,210 people have died in the country so far due to COVID-19 infection, which is 1.34 percent of the total cases. In new cases, the infection rate was recorded at 3.02 percent. At the same time, the weekly positivity rate is currently 2.41 percent. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 14,19,990 samples were tested across the country on Sunday. Since the beginning of the epidemic in the country, more than 52 crore samples have been tested so far.
So far 63.43 crore doses of corona virus vaccine have been applied in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, 31.14 lakh doses were administered across the country on Sunday. So far, 48.85 crore people have been given the first dose and 14.58 crore people have been given both doses. Uttar Pradesh (7.04 crore doses) has the highest number of vaccinations in the country, followed by Maharashtra (5.71 crore doses).
Positivity rate in Kerala is around 20 percent
About 70 percent of the new cases in the country have been registered in Kerala. There were 29,836 new cases of infection in Kerala on Sunday and the death of 75 patients was registered. Earlier, more than 30 thousand new cases were registered for 4 consecutive days. The positivity rate in the state has been recorded at 19.67 percent. Here the total number of infected cases has increased to 40.07 lakh and so far 20,541 people have died. The number of active cases in Kerala is currently 2,12,566, which is about 56 percent of the total active cases in the country.
At the same time, 4,666 new cases of infection were reported in Maharashtra on Sunday. With this, the number of people affected by COVID in the state has increased to 64,56,939. After the death of 131 more patients of COVID-19 in the state, the death toll increased to 1,37,157. The State Health Department said that 62,63,416 people have been cured so far. Here the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients is 97 percent and the infection rate is 2.12 percent. At present, the number of active cases is 52,844.
